This award-winning writer, producer, and director started working in the film industry in 2003 in her native home city of Montreal. The Franco-Canadian who now lives in Syndey, Australia.

In 2000, Dr. Terry Wahls, a now world-renowned American doctor and scientist is diagnosed with an incurable disease. Seven years later, despite taking the pharmaceutical drugs normally prescribed to sufferers of her condition, Terry’s health continues to decline. The mother of two, decides conventional medicine is not stopping the decline into a demented and bedridden life and begins her search for an alternative approach. This is the story of her decline, astonishing recovery and how she ultimately succeeded in her attempt at defying all odds.
On this episode of Free Thinking, Montel is joined by Dr Terry Wahls, a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Iowa. Dr Wahls is a MS patient with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. She was dependent on a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years due to Multiple Sclerosis until she reclaimed her health using a diet and lifestyle program she designed specifically to restore her cellular health — she now pedals her bike to work each day. Her training program, The Wahls Protocol, is an autoimmune protocol that has transformed thousands of lives across the globe and has changed the direction of dietary and health behavior research for neurological and autoimmune conditions.
Her latest film, Defying All Odds, has garnered a total of 7 wins and nominations to date, namely a "Critics Choice Award" at the Iowa Independent Film Festival, "Best Director, "Documentary Feature" at the Culver City Film Festival, and an "Award of Merit, Special Mention" at The Impact Docs Awards in La Jolla. The project was also showcased on Getty Images Australia.
Caroleen's debut feature documentary, We Love Paleo (aka Love Paleo, 2016), is also distributed worldwide. We Love Paleo was subtitled in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Czech. To date, her debut feature has been seen in over 60 countries. This creative of Haitian descent holds a Bachelor of Communications from UQAM University, constantly seeks to enhance the mastery of her craft and speaks a few languages.
