TOWOIT — THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH

This is the parent series, not the school-shooting program.

The established description is essentially:

TOWOIT addresses the growing mental-health crisis by bringing people together with hope, resources, guidance, education and compassion. Through moderated discussions, personal stories, professional expertise and practical resources, people who have survived difficult circumstances, people who have found a way through, mental-health professionals, and people who may still be struggling come together as a community.

The purpose is to help people discover pathways toward recovery, resilience and healing.

We also had the strong language:

“Real stories. Real survivors. Real hope.”

And:

“Because healing begins when someone shows us we’re not alone.”

Montel Williams serves as the facilitator/host who helps bring those voices together.

SAFER SCHOOLS, STRONGER COMMUNITIES — SSSC

This is a distinct TOWOIT initiative/national tour specifically about school safety and ending school shootings.

Our established premise:

Safer Schools, Stronger Communities brings students, educators, parents, law enforcement, mental-health professionals, experts and community leaders together to develop actionable solutions to prevent school shootings, strengthen school safety and protect children.

Importantly, we later expanded this beyond conversation. SSSC includes advocacy, public-policy work and legislative/lobbying efforts.

The language we established includes:

“School safety isn’t a political issue — it’s a human one.”

And:

“Together, we can build safer schools and stronger communities.”

SAFER STREETS, STRONGER COMMUNITIES

This is the sister initiative that moves beyond schools into the larger problem of mass violence and community safety.

The established focus is:

Safer Streets, Stronger Communities brings communities together to develop actionable solutions aimed at preventing mass shootings and other violence, strengthening neighborhoods and creating safer, healthier communities.

Its territory includes violence prevention, intervention strategies, mental health, community engagement, recovery, public safety and neighborhood resilience.

So the clean distinction we've built is:

TOWOIT = mental health, recovery, resources, hope and healing.
SSSC = school shootings, school safety, prevention, advocacy and actionable solutions.
Safer Streets = mass shootings/violence beyond schools, public safety, prevention and stronger communities.
